Nature Park of Hutovo Blato in Herzegovina

Hutovo Blato Nature Reserve is one of best known havens for migrating birds to be seen in their natural habitat. The unique flora and fauna and wildlife features of the park captivate the interest of visitors worldwide.

Morning ride will take us through interesting suburbs of Sarajevo and areas of central Bosnia until we pass Ivan mountain and enter Herzegovina region. First of all, we will visit Mostar town with focus at Mostar’s Old Bridge and Old Bazaar and Old Town. After Mostar, we will continue our ride to breathtaking Hutovo Blato Nature park. This is the nature and bird reserve and the Mediterranean wetland in the delta of Neretva River.

On this tour we will go on the photo safari in the nature Park Hutovo Blato which implies sightseeing of the landscape, bird observation and enjoying the natural environment of the swamp with boat ride. Whole ride takes about an hour and after that we will have a traditional lunch in the nature. After lunch we are going back home, but soon after short ride we will make a coffee break in Blagaj town.

The region of Blagaj is characterised by the diversity of its overground and underground waters. The spring of the Buna River is one of the largest and most beautiful in Europe and represents the finest example of an underground karst river.  Just next to the spring, under the rock, is home to Blagaj Tekke – Oriental Bosnian architecture which attracts with its beautiful bright-colored twin houses, a floor and an extended room /like balcony/ reflecting upon the surface of the dark green water of Buna River.

Here we will have a short break and take some pictures while drinking cold drinks, tea or Turkish coffee in a beautiful garden overlooking the source of the Buna River.
