The name “Skakavac” translates from the Bosnian language as “Grasshopper”. This is because the flow of the waterfall is not large. But the height of the waterfall is very high, with a huge 98 meters in heights. It flows down in many small waterfalls jumping from one point to the other. Therefore, the water drop in small particles giving the effect of water dust. Due to that, the Skakavac waterfall is very unique.

The area around the Skakavac waterfall is very Heterogenic. Also, the forest is rich in flora and fauna. The variety of trees being spruce, fir, and beech forest trees. Together they make for an amazing scenery. There is a lot of biodiversities. A variety of endemic and relic plants. Many species of fungi and animals, of which many are endangered species. Skakavac area is nicely maintained, in many points, you will see informative panels where you can read all about the endemic flora and fauna. Further down the track, we will visit the medieval Necropolis graveyard where you can see large ancient tombstones.
